Our first day of exploration begins with a scenic drive through the majestic mountains towards the ancient town of Mestia - the historical and cultural centre of the Svaneti region. On our way we'll stop by the Enguri Dam - the second-highest dam in Europe (271m) - this is the first of many breathtaking photo opportunities that await us. We’ll also have the chance to visit a colourful local market.

Day 2

Hike: Chaladi glacier

o Difficulty – easy/moderate

o Distance - 6 km

o Duration - 3 hours

o Altitude change - 200 m

Today we are hiking to the spectacular Chalaadi Glacier which lies in a valley with jagged Caucasus Mountains peaks towering over it. We will hike through tranquil green pine forests right next to the Caucasian range before we venture into a captivating rocky gorge. We reach an altitude of 1850m to see the Chalaadi Glacier - a fascinating treat for the eye and the source of a rushing river. This is a fairly easy hike with a few rocky sections that allow us to fully relish and take in the surrounding scenery. On the same day, you will have enough time to explore Mestia, the main town of Svaneti and climb inside one of the towers, as well as enjoy the giant swing with a panoramic view.

Day 3

Hike: Ushba Waterfalls

o Difficulty - Moderate

o Distance - 9 km

o Duration - 5 hours

o Altitude change - 400 m

Today we’ve planned a scenic hike that leads us to one of the highest waterfalls in Georgia - Ushba. Our trail crosses a small river and continues deep in the wonderful pine-smelling woodlands. Weather dependent, there's a possibility for a cable car ride with a view of Ushba. Our day finishes with a special treat - dinner at a local restaurant with a typical folklore program.

Day 4

Our next conquest is the beautiful alpine Koruldi lakes - nestled at the foot of the 4710m high Ushba peak, known as the ‘Matterhorn of the Great Caucasus Mountains’ for its spire-shaped double summit. Our hike follows a steep path that elevates to an awe-inspiring viewpoint at 2500m. On our way, we pass green forests and lush meadows followed by the idyllic sounds of cowbells. It’s one of the most challenging trails in the area and very tough, but extremely rewarding with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding Great Caucasus Mountains.
